Juliette & Chocolat is a restaurant-chocolaterie specializing in decadent desserts: from intensely chocolatey brownies to fondues and more. Cité mémoire is a new addition representing one of the largest urban lighting installations in the world. Witness Montreal’s iconic history projected on the walls of Old Montreal’s French inspired buildings. Let the app guide you through the cobblestone streets and watch history come to life!

Cité Mémoire is available in winter on Fridays and Saturdays when the night falls.

Head towards the St. Lawrence to see the famous Jacques-Cartier Bridge illuminated. Created by Montreal’s very own Moment Factory for Montreal ‘s 375th Anniversary,, this wondrous light show changes colours depending on the season and is a must-see!

Montreal’s fifth edition of Lights Over Old Montreal comprises 14 different Christmas displays spread across the old port until January 5th 2023. These include jaw dropping illuminated sculptures, christmas trees and more. Check out this map to ensure you catch them all. We highly recommend taking a spin on the highest observation wheel in Canada in our very own Old Port. Reaching a height of 60 metres, every 20-minute rotation offers 360-degree views that span 28 kilometres on a clear day. “Local Trip “– this new expression took on its full meaning this summer when travelling abroad was suspended and we learned how to rediscover our Province and its tourist attractions. It’s true that you don’t have to travel very far to feel disoriented and have the feeling of having gone far away from home! Sometimes getting out of your house to go for a fun walk or do something that you don’t normally do is enough. Spending a night or two in a hotel to enjoy your own city and discover it from a tourist’s perspective is part of it.

These small touches make all the difference.

‘Local crafts, ‘local commerce’ or even ‘local partner’ have also become the watchwords in this pandemic, and it is important for us to honor these actors who make Montreal, our city, so alive and attractive.

At the hotel, we have always worked with local merchants. That’s why today, I’ve decided to talk to you about some of our local partners in Old Montreal who contribute to the everyday SoSulpice! experiences we offer at the hotel. First of all, I would like to present you, for those who do not know of it, our favourite boutique located 2 steps from the hotel: le Magasin Général du Vieux Montréal. We love them so much that some of their products dress up our hotel windows.

This shop is, for me, a real cabinet of curiosities! It is full of gift ideas, decorative items, souvenir gifts from Montreal, jewelry, and trendy accessories such as bags and scarves – all at affordable prices! Nicole, the owner, carefully choses her suppliers and artisans to showcase their creation and their local know-how.

You’ll probably fall in love with one of her scented candles or even one of her colourful and decorative ceramic objects. The store now offers a whole collection of small green plants to complete your interior decoration.

Let yourself be served by Nicole who will guide your through the boutique and give you the warmest of welcomes. You will undoubtedly inspiration for your next Christmas gifts all while making a local purchase.

Local Specialty : Délices Érable & Cie, 84 rue St-Paul Est in Old Montreal

Have a sweet tooth? Visit the Délices Érable Boutique situated less than a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

Welcoming and pleasant, the shop is currently open to you from Thursday to Sunday. As you walk past the store, you will be drawn to the comforting and captivating smell of maple. Might you be tempted by a maple hot chocolate?

Gift boxes filled with local delicacies ready to go or build your own! Choose your local basket: the boutique offers a wide choice of products to offer or to spoil yourself without moderation! Candy, cookies, waffles, jelly, popcorn, tea, cranberries, blueberries, and all the variations of maple syrup you can imagine.
